⚽️ INTRODUCING MBUSC HEAD COACH – NATHAN FLEETWOOD ⚽️
A passionate footballer as a child, Nathan left for England at age 15, alone, to pursue a professional career. He went to then EPL club Barnsley FC for a trial and won a schoolboy contract playing in the U17s against EPL clubs Liverpool, Newcastle United, Middlesborough to name a few. Being away from home in the cut-throat world of English football is never easy let alone for a teenager and unfortunately Nathan narrowly missed out on a contract to continue in England. It worked out well though as he attracted the attention of US scouts and ended up at University of Kentucky on scholarship. He carved out a strong college career being acclaimed as one of the top college players in the US with numerous honours leading to a MLS contract with Chicago Fire.
Homesickness though got the better of him and he returned to Australia turning his back on a MLS career to play in the NSW & SA Premier Leagues forging an outstanding career for the next 10 years. Including the Sergio Melta Medal in 2008 whilst at Campbelltown. As well as captaining both Comets and Raiders whilst he was at those clubs.
He’s coached for 10 + years, including elite juniors with the Football SA SAP squads and STIC. To establishing the Football SA Centre of Excellence in Mt Gambier, are a few of his many coaching highlights.

Developing high-calibre players is what Nathan does, and what Hills footballers need, no matter the age we believe he’ll make them better and in turn MBUSC will go from strength to strength. Along with the appointment of Ben Howard as TD we have the key pillars in place to become a leader in player development and a true pathway club.
